Wyld Cabins, Norfolk
Leisure and TourismProject:
NTR Planning has successfully achieved planning permission, on delegated authority, for the development of a 20Ha commercial woodland within a wider Grade I Registered Park & Garden as a new, luxury eco-tourism scheme. The scheme will comprise 45 timber cabins, each set within its own woodland glade, along with essential supporting and wellness facilities to promote the natural environment as a place of healing and reflection.
Alongside the cabins, sustainable and long-term woodland management will deliver – over time – a broadleaved, native and continuous cover woodland in place of the existing commercial conifer crop. This will generate landscape-scale enhancement and biodiversity net gains in excess of 50%, as well as realising a key estate diversification opportunity and generating economic benefits for the rural area and its communities.
We worked with the applicant and their wider professional team to undertake an extensive process of pre-application engagement with the local planning authority and Historic England to allow for a truly collaborative approach to the delivery of this important new tourism opportunity for West Norfolk.
